Your First-Year Odyssey.
You will interact closely with the faculty, from day one, by taking part in programs such as the First-Year Odyssey, which are limited to 15 students and are designed to introduce you to the academic life of the University.
Your Freshman College Summer Experience.
A summer program allowing entering First-Year students the chance to experience college life and student interaction a little earlier in their collegiate career.
Your First-Year Learning Communities, a residential program where students with similar interests take classes together.
The overall graduation rate at UGA is above 83%. Currently, the First-Year retention rate is at 95% for the university. A network of more than 305,000 living alumni exists to welcome you after graduation.

UGA is the nation’s largest public university to ensure that each of our students engage in hands-on learning through opportunities that include internships, research, service-learning and study abroad. Students experience a wide variety of situations within the classroom, ranging from small discussion classes to larger lecture hall courses. The average first and second year class size is 39; the average third and fourth year class size is 33; and an average honors course size is 17.
