How to Apply
Thank you for your interest in the University of Georgia!
Whether you’re visiting in-person or virtually, we are excited to have you here.
We know you may have questions about what the first-year application process looks like or what to expect as a student at UGA, and we’re here to help. Our website and admissions blog are full of resources that walk you through the various aspects of the first-year application and it’s required components, as well as provide you with a bit of insight as to what to expect if you choose to make Athens your home.
You can apply to UGA in two different ways – through the Common App or our Institutional Application. To find out more information about how to apply and the required materials, please visit the First Year page.
Applicants for Early Action (EA) and Regular Decision (RD) undergo the same review process, which means that the choice is really a matter of timing. The best way to answer that question is to rephrase it to: “Is my application ready now?”
Both of our application types are non-binding, so the choice is up to you. If you want to get a decision earlier in the fall semester, we recommend applying Early Action. If you want a little bit of your senior year under your belt, we recommend applying Regular Decision.
Early Action has a deadline of October 15 and decisions are typically released by early December. Regular Decision has a deadline of January 1 and decisions are typically released in mid-March. Students have until May 1 to submit a commitment deposit. If you’d like a more comprehensive review of our dates and deadlines, please visit our Deadlines page.
