A transfer student is someone who has attended some college after graduating from high school and wants to transfer to UGA to complete their degree. To be eligible for transfer admission consideration, applicants must meet a specific set of criteria established by the application deadline and submit the required materials in accordance with the appropriate deadlines.

As part of our Strategic Enrollment Management Plan, we aim to enroll one new transfer student for every two first‑year students. Approximately 95% of transfer students live in Georgia, and they are twice as likely to be the first in their family to graduate with a bachelor’s degree.
