Visit UGA

North Campus Fountain

Leave the beaten track occasionally and dive into the woods. Every time you do so you will be certain to find something that you have never seen before. Follow it up, explore all around it, and before you know it, you will have something worth thinking about to occupy your mind.

Key Areas to Explore: The Office of Admissions, The Visitors Center, and Departments of Interest

You can learn a great deal about the University of Georgia on the Web, but the only way to know if UGA is a good match is by actually seeing and experiencing it for yourself. Whether you're here for two hours or two days, the most important stops to make are with The Office of Admissions, The Visitors Center, and an Academic or Student Life Department that interests you. Remember that each of these stops requires a bit of pre-planning, so make sure to check out the links that follow.

Visit the Office of Admissions

If you visit the campus, we suggest that you stop by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The office is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with an admissions counselor always on duty to talk with students and their families about UGA. We strongly suggest that students attend one of two daily Information Sessions during which an admission counselor will give a detailed overview of academics, campus life, and the application process. A current student is usually on-hand at these sessions to provide honest feedback about "a day in the life of a UGA student." You can ensure your space in an Information Session by making an Information Session reservation.

Select Saturday Information Sessions

The Office of Admissions also conducts information sessions on selected Saturdays at the UGA Visitors Center. These sessions are held once monthly from 12 - 1 pm at the Visitors Center facility and not in Terrell Hall. Make your Visitor Center reservation by clicking here.

The Visitors Center and Campus Tours

UGA Visitors Center Hours

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Only on select Saturdays.

The best way for students to start planning a visit to UGA is by contacting our Visitors Center. The Center is the primary source of information about the UGA campus, special events, and overnight accommodations. If you are interested in taking a guided tour of campus, you need to make a reservation for one of the scheduled tours. These tours, led by a current student, include a walking tour of North Campus and a bus tour of the remainder of campus. We suggest you make your tour reservation well in advance and call the Visitors Center at (706) 542-0842 if you need more help planning a visit. The Visitors Center office hours are listed to the side. Remember that the Center is closed on official University holidays, and tour times might be modified on national holidays.

Stay on Campus at the UGA Hotel and Conference CenterGeorgia Center

The most convenient place to stay during your visits is the UGA Hotel and Conference Center. Close to the Coliseum, Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall, and other landmarks, the UGA Hotel is the University's on-campus hotel and conference center. Guest Services staff will be happy to help you find your way around the University. The Office of Admissions has negotiated special discounted rates at the UGA Hotel for its guests.

Contact the Academic or Student Life Department
of Your Interest

During your visit to campus, you might also want to think about visiting one of the other departments on campus that captures your interest. Whether it's an academic interest, from the Terry College of Business to the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, or a student life interest such as the Honors Program, Student Financial Aid or the Multicultural Services Program, students can contact these offices to obtain more detailed information or possibly arrange an appointment. Web site addresses and phone numbers are available at Campus Mail; we suggest you contact the undergraduate coordinators or department heads of the departments well in advance of your campus visit.
