three students in cap and gown

(En Español)

The University of Georgia is pleased to announce three new scholarship programs. The addition of the new scholarships will result in four different undergraduate scholarship programs which will support students with financial need (as determined by analysis of the FAFSA or Free Application for Federal Student Aid application,) and who are fluent in Spanish. Preference will be given to students from Georgia. In addition to the scholarship aid, after enrollment, students will be provided with opportunities to interact with other scholarship winners and attend specific events to support their transition to UGA and enhance their learning experience.

Students interested in applying for any of the scholarships are encouraged to complete the FAFSA as soon after January 1st as possible and may complete the scholarship application found by logging into the online status check.

Applicants must have been admitted to UGA as either a new first-year or transfer student beginning in the fall and must submit the full scholarship application by the preceding deadline of March 20.  Interested applicants may submit the Goizueta Scholarship Application prior to receiving an admissions decision.

Each of the scholarships is renewable for a set number of terms or until the students completes their baccalaureate degree. Eligibility will be determined by a selection committee and will consider the student’s financial need, a review of their scholarship application and proof of fluency in Spanish (as certified by the head of the Spanish Department or Spanish teacher at their school.) Additional criteria apply for some of the scholarships.

The Goizueta Foundation Undergraduate Scholars will receive $3000 per year and are generally awarded to 5-10 new incoming first- year students. Apply to the Goizueta Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship here.

The Opportunity Scholarships are awards of $4000 per year and are generally awarded to 15 new incoming first-year students with strong academic accomplishments.

All first-year scholarships are renewable for a total of 8 terms of full-time enrollment or until the student completes their baccalaureate degree. Students must maintain a 2.8 GPA for renewal.

The Transfer Opportunity Scholarships are awards of $4000 and are generally awarded to 8 new incoming transfer students.
