Student Life

A World of Activity on Campus

A vital part of your college experience will be what you’re able to learn outside of the classroom. UGA has over 500 clubs and organizations that can help you get involved on campus. Depending on your interests, you can get involved in politics, learn how to juggle, help out with Habitat for Humanity, or even play some ice hockey—all while meeting other students who share the same interests. Take part in Greek life, join an intramural team, find a volunteer group that fits your needs, or learn about different cultures through a variety of organizations. You can also be a part of the programming board of the University Union, which sponsors guest speakers and performers ranging from Kurt Vonnegut to Destiny’s Child.

If you're interested in taking a leadership role on campus, start with the Student Leadership Center. Through this center, you can take advantage of opportunities such as Dawg Camp, a series of summer programs for incoming first-year students, and LeaderShape, a week-long institute emphasizing vision planning and leading with integrity.

UGA offers a number of programs and services to support and educate the campus about many different cultures. The department of Intercultural Affairs is comprised of the African American Cultural Center, International Student Life, and Multicultural Services and Programs which advises over 40 multicultural and international student organizations. Please visit www.uga.edu/ica to learn more about the programs, services and student organizations sponsored by ICA.

The International Student Life office has advisors and coordinators who work with international student groups and activities, and also help organize international student events. ISL also publishes Georgia Bound, a newsletter with information on obtaining visas, traveling to UGA and orientation for new international students. This site also has links to many international student organizations on campus.
