Use this information to guide you through your adventure of becoming a UGA student. Be sure to print the summary "To Do" list in order to stay on track. The steps differ for new first-year students (freshmen) versus new undergraduate transfer students so be sure you selected the correct category before continuing. Click on the links within the various steps to provide further information. Be aware that many steps have important dates and deadlines. So get started... your UGA adventure awaits you!

Immediately upon admission all new transfer students must complete these steps:

Create your UGA MyID and email account online.

Apply for Federal Financial Aid and/or the HOPE Scholarship after January 1.

If you are interested in living on campus, submit the UGA Housing application online as soon as possible.

Register this spring for an Orientation session for new transfer students when e-mailed to do so by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions (typically in early May for students admitted for Summer and Fall semesters, and in early November for students admitted for Spring semester).

Submit the Mandatory Certificate of Immunization to the University Health Center at least two weeks prior to attending your assigned summer Orientation session.

Complete the required online alcohol course prior to first day of classes at UGA.

Check your online Student Account for billing information beginning this spring.

Before attending your Orientation session, submit to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions your official college transcripts for academic work that was not complete prior to your acceptance.

Prior to your first academic advising appointment at summer Orientation, familiarize yourself with UGA's degree programs, academic requirements, and course offerings in the online Undergraduate Bulletin.

Most new transfer students should consider these opportunities prior to enrolling:

If needed, contact the Disability Resource Center prior to summer Orientation session.

If you are planning to have a car on campus, register online for a UGA parking permit as early as mid-April and before mid-July.

Explore the possibility of enhancing your academic and residence hall experiences by participating in the Creswell Hall Learning Communities, the Franklin Residential College in Rutherford Hall, Language Communities in French and Spanish in Mary Lyndon Hall, or Honors Magnet Hall in Myers Hall.

After May 1st, purchase a 7-day or 5-day meal plan for access to the award-winning UGA Food Services program.

Review and become familiar with the Student Code of Conduct.

Create your Bulldog Bucks account during or after your summer Orientation session in order to use your student ID card as a debit card.

Get a head start on getting involved at UGA by reviewing our Campus Life web site for information on campus activities and student organizations.

Please visit the UGA Athletic Association for any and all information pertaining to student tickets to athletic events. You will need your UGA Student ID Card and a MasterCard or Visa to purchase tickets throughout the year. Go Dawgs!
