Use this information to guide you through your adventure of becoming a UGA student. Be sure to print the summary "To Do" list in order to stay on track. The steps differ for new first-year students (freshmen) versus new undergraduate transfer students so be sure you selected the correct category before continuing. Click on the links within the various steps to provide further information. Be aware that many steps have important dates and deadlines. So get started... your UGA adventure awaits you!

Immediately upon admission, all new first-year students (freshmen) must complete these steps:

The UGA Housing application online will be available Oct 1, 2008.

Apply for Federal Financial Aid and/or the HOPE Scholarship after January 1.

Pay the non-refundable $200 commitment deposit by two weeks from the date of your offer letter.

Once your $200 commitment deposit is paid, you should then begin these steps:

Create your UGA MyID and email account online.

Register for Orientation when e-mailed to do so by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions (watch for your e-mail in October).

Submit the Mandatory Certificate of Immunization to the University Health Center at least two weeks prior to attending your assigned Orientation session.

Complete the required online alcohol course prior to first day of classes (Jan. 8, 2009) at UGA.

Check your online Student Account for billing information beginning in the fall.

If you are planning to have a car on campus, register online for a UGA parking permit.

If needed, contact the Disability Resource Center prior to your Orientation session.

Prior to your first academic advising appointment at Orientation, familiarize yourself with UGA's degree programs, academic requirements, and course offerings in the online Undergraduate Bulletin.

Submit a final high school transcript to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by July 1.

Purchase a 7-day or 5-day meal plan for access to the award-winning UGA Food Services program.

Create a Bulldog Bucks account during or after your Orientation session in order to use your student ID card as a debit card.

Review and become familiar with the Student Code of Conduct.

Check your financial aid status.

Please visit the UGA Athletic Association for any and all information pertaining to student tickets to athletic events. You will need your UGA Student ID Card and a MasterCard or Visa to purchase tickets throughout the year. Go Dawgs!
