Orientation Service Project

The Orientation Service Project is a collaboration between the University of Georgia
Office of Undergraduate Admissions and the Clarke County School District.

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayals of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

You are about to embark on one of the greatest adventures of your life - COLLEGE! Orientation is excited to welcome you to the University of Georgia and share with you the many educational, social, and cultural opportunities that lie ahead. We also look forward to introducing you to the unique college town of Athens, GA. Nicknamed the "Classic City," Athens and the surrounding community is a one-of-a-kind place that we know you'll fall in love with and forever cherish memories made.

Athens-Clarke County is also one of the poorest counties in the United States. This is why we are calling on you. For the first time ever, Orientation is asking students to participate in a community service project entitled "PAWS for a CAUSE." Just like Orientation is designed to prepare you for a successful beginning to your UGA experience, with your help, PAWS for a CAUSE will provide students at 14 local elementary schools with the supplies they need to start their own school year off the right way.
