What is student life like at UGA?
Student Life is what you make of it. With over 500 clubs and organizations on campus, you are bound to find something that fits your interests; if not, you can always create one that does. Faculty and staff members go out of their way to make sure that students make a smooth transition from high school and take full advantage of all the resources on campus. My professors, advisors, and organizational affiliations have provided me with the tools necessary to be successful in my career and in life.
My favorite Professors are
Dr. Robert Pratt of the History Department and Dr. Oliver Li of the Veterinary School. Both professors made the material interesting. They presented it in a way that was easy to comprehend and retain for tests. Students definitely feed off the energy of the professor so it is definitely important to have an instructor who is truly passionate about what is being taught. These two professors not only provided great knowledge in their particular field of study; they were encouraging and offered information that will be valuable outside of the classroom.
After graduation I plan on
Upon the completion my undergraduate career, I plan on furthering my education in graduate school and pursuing a career in the health care industry. The University has prepared me with the knowledge and hands-on experience to enter the professional environment with the vigor of the bulldog.
What I like best about UGA is
The tremendous amount of resources available to students. I am very fortunate that I attend a school that is able to provide its students with a competitive curriculum and a variety of ways to make them valuable in a professional arena. There are many research opportunities where students can work directly with a professor in a particular field of interest. The Career Center is filled with information on internships, externships, part-time and full-time job opportunities, and so much more from partnering corporations. Workshops are conducted all the time on resume-writing; career fairs are held. Study Abroad programs are always looking for students who are willing to travel around the world. The opportunities are endless and available at UGA!
The UGA experience I will always remember is
Going to my first UGA football game. I remember hearing stories about the game from the classmates. They definitely did not compare to going and witnessing the excitement first-hand. Seeing Sanford Stadium filled with so many members of the Bulldog Nation was amazing!
