This year, our application postmark deadline for the Foundation Fellowship is November 16, 2009.
After reviewing all applications thoroughly, we will invite approximately 50 finalists to campus for our Interview Weekend, scheduled for Friday, February 26 through Saturday, February 27, 2010. Please note that due to the format of our finalist interview process, we are unable to offer alternate interview dates.
Who is eligible to apply for the UGA Foundation Fellowship and the Bernard Ramsey Honors Scholarship? Applicants must be current high school seniors with a recommended unweighted high school GPA of at least 3.75 and a minimum combined SAT score of 1400 (Critical Reading and Math only) or ACT score of 31.
In addition to outstanding academic achievement, successful applicants demonstrate a high degree of intellectual drive and curiosity and possess superior records of leadership and service. The University of Georgia Foundation Fellowship is one of the most prestigious undergraduate scholarship programs in the United States. The Fellowship was established in 1972 by trustees of the University of Georgia Foundation to enhance the educational experiences of academically outstanding undergraduate students. The Foundation Fellowship provides an annual stipend of approximately $9,000 for in-state students (in addition to the HOPE Scholarship) and $14,700 for out-of-state students (plus an out-of-state tuition waiver). The Fellowship also provides numerous opportunities for national and international travel-study, faculty-directed academic research, and academic conference participation.
Additional benefits of the Fellowship include extensive academic enrichment opportunities such as seminars with distinguished University of Georgia professors and visiting scholars, advising and mentoring from senior faculty fellows, and membership to UGA's nationally-recognized Honors Program.
All finalists who participate in the Interview Weekend will be named Bernard Ramsey Honors Scholars. The Ramsey Honors Scholarship provides a $4,500 stipend for in-state students (in addition to the HOPE Scholarship) and a $7,200 stipend (plus an out-of-state tuition waiver) for out-of-state students. The scholarship also includes a $3,000 travel-study grant. Following the Interview Weekend, up to 25 of the Ramsey Scholars will be named University of Georgia Foundation Fellows. We look forward to working with you.
